Reborn Overture (2025)
DUE TO CONVENTION SCHEDULE, ORDERS WILL BE FULFILLED STARTING FEBRUARY 1ST
Phoenixes are characteristically associated with immortality and resurrection; symbols of the cycle of life and rebirth. Reborn Overture (2025) was made as an emotionally frustrated response to the California wildfires of January 2025. The phoenix, scorched, flies out from the flames, reborn and burning. The flames, however, depicts no graphic representation of a fire. Rather they are aggressively and abstractly painted, carved to represent dry-brush techniques in calligraphy. In contrast, the phoenix carries visual representations of California’s state bird, the California Quail, in order to pinpoint the origins of inspiration.
The destruction and impact of these fires are devastating, but we have an opportunity to help. 100% of profits from these sales will be going directly into organizations that are actively involved with helping the SoCal community during this time: Pasadena Humane Society, Wetlands and Wildlife Care Center. and the ARC Firefighter Fund.
Thank you in advance for your time and support. And thank you for listening to my frustration. I hope we can all help contribute to those who have lost so much and to those who are diligently working to rebuild and recover.
